Post Monsoon Season Spatial Distribution of Groundwater Depth over the Low-Lands of Sunsari District of Eastern Nepal

The knowledge and an accurate representation of the spatial distribution groundwater depth area are very important to realize sustainable use resource, protection ecosystem for development adaptation policies in changing climate. present study has, thus, developed a map southern low-lands Sunsari District at horizontal grid resolution 3 km × km. depths were surveyed predefined 82 numbers geo-referenced points scattered over region during post monsoon season year 2019. Referencing sampled depths, has been predicted using Ordinary Kriging Method. Three widely used Semivariogram modules such as Spherical, Exponential, Gaussian implemented. model outperformed other methods with R2 0.336, RMSE 2.591, MAE 1.946. reasonably well correlated observed distribution. level suggests that 12.36% total area, particularly, western, southwestern northern parts hold much shallower (< 5 m). Over 51.59 % southeastern northeastern parts, remained below 8 m from ground rest holds deeper than m.
